Email updates and enquiries
When you request email updates, we use your email address and recorded permission to send the updates described at signup, on the basis of your consent. Arc Light signup covers launch news and availability; it does not enrol you, reserve a place or subscribe you to another venture’s marketing. Signup is optional. Without your email address and permission, we cannot send those updates.
We retain your signup source and date, consent choices, applicable wording/version, relevant interest tags and unsubscribe status. Our service providers also process technical information needed to deliver and secure their services. If you contact us, we use your contact details, message and relevant correspondence to respond. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate enquiry handling, security, administration and respecting your opt-out.
How information is handled
Access is limited to authorised administration and providers supporting these purposes. IONOS hosts this website; Microsoft 365 handles our email enquiries. We use Mailchimp, an Intuit service, to store the email list and deliver requested updates. Its privacy statement explains its privacy practices. Information may be processed in the United States and other provider locations. Mailchimp’s data-processing terms provide for applicable international-transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum where required. Contact us for information or a copy of relevant safeguards. Disclosures to authorities or professional advisers are limited to an applicable obligation or justified purpose.
How long we keep information
We keep signup records while needed to provide the updates you requested and review them when that purpose ends or you withdraw consent. We remove information no longer needed, subject to a specific legal obligation or justified claim. We retain a minimal suppression record as needed to prevent renewed marketing after an unsubscribe or objection. Enquiries are reviewed on closure, retaining only what is needed for follow-up, required evidence or a justified claim. Provider backups and legally retained copies may persist beyond deletion from active records and must not be reused for unrelated purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe or object to direct marketing at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in our emails or contact communications@huf.institute. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. We verify identity proportionately when necessary and respond within the applicable legal time limit. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your competent local data-protection authority. Email signup does not involve solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Scope and changes
This notice covers website enquiries and email updates. Separate information is provided at collection for other services; this signup does not collect assessment answers, course submissions or payment details. Where optional cookies or tracking require consent, the relevant choice must be offered before they operate. We will update this notice before introducing materially different processing where required. Continued browsing is not marketing consent.
